Thermal drone data in 3D.

Drone thermal imagery, processed into a measurable 3D thermal model of buildings and industrial assets.

Try it free on a project, up to 500 photos.

Example record · Building envelope. One flight’s thermal photos, processed into a 3D record of the building.

Who it is for

01

Building envelope engineering firms

See the envelope’s entire thermal exterior in one view.

We fly the building, or process existing imagery into a radiometric 3D model. Findings can be measured, compared, and located again on site. Offer as an optional item in your proposals. More on the building envelope page.

02

Drone service providers and in-house drone teams

Deliver a 3D record of the asset, not a folder of thermal photos.

You fly, we process: a full picture of what you captured, the evidence behind every reading, and comparability over time. More on the drone service provider page.

Try it free on a project

The record supports professional judgement, it doesn’t replace it.

How it works

  1. 01You sendUp to 500 radiometric thermal photos from one project. Or book a flight and we capture them.
  2. 02We checkWhether the capture is suitable for our processing.
  3. 03If it isWe process the data.
  4. 04If it is notYou receive capture guidance for the next flight.

What you receive

  1. 01The full 3D thermal record of the building or asset, in your coordinate system, with the raw files.
  2. 02The evidence behind every reading, so your team can verify a finding before they act on it.
  3. 03A web viewer with tooling: colour and filter the record by any field, review pre-identified areas of concern and export them in multiple available formats. Try the live demo.
  4. 04Findings your team can take into their own drawings and GIS.Raw: LAZ · Viewer exports: DXF, E57/LAS, GeoJSON
  5. 05Capture again later and compare the two records.

What is behind every point

Every reading carries its evidence.

Every point carries its temperature, its capture time and the evidence behind the reading. In the delivered viewer, each field can be read, used to colour or filter the record, or taken into your own software.

2D and 3D

What a thermal orthomosaic misses.

Walls, vents and junctions, and what the 3D record keeps: the full comparison.

Common approach

2D thermal orthomosaic

Sees only what faces up. Walls and doors are missing, and roof vents flatten into the roof, so their readings mix with the roof around them.

Our 3D record

Radiometric thermal data in 3D

Roofs, walls, doors and junctions in one record, each temperature at the position where it was measured. The side-door reading shown does not exist in the orthomosaic.

Other assets

Additional examples.

Example record · pumpjacks, equipment and pipework

Example record

Industrial assets

This example record of a pumpjack site came through the same processing. Pipework and equipment stay in 3D instead of flattening into a plan view, and the same review tools apply.

Example record · steel truss bridge, deck and piers

Example record

Infrastructure assets

This example record of a steel truss bridge came through the same processing. The deck, piers and truss stay in 3D instead of flattening into a plan view. We’d welcome your perspective on fit for the assets you review.

Practical questions

What do you receive?

One 3D thermal record as a LAZ point cloud with its coordinate system embedded, and the tools to review it in a hosted web viewer, not downloaded software, with DXF and E57/LAS findings exports and GeoJSON class/asset identification. A processing quality report and a point traceability report are included with each delivery.

What can the record be used for?

Focused investigation, repair planning, and post-repair verification. Capture the same asset again later and the two records can be compared by points or asset areas to see what has changed.

How does a project start?

With a free project, or a conversation about the building or assets you review and the work you have in mind. Capture suitability is assessed per project, including captures planned but not yet flown. If you don’t fly, we can, or we can help you arrange it.

Where are you based?

Precision Flight Data is based in Calgary and can process data from anywhere. If you need a flight arranged, we can help in Western Canada.

Does this replace a professional assessment?

No. The record gives your team located, traceable thermal evidence for its assessment. Thermal observations alone do not establish a diagnosis.

Pilot projects

Discuss a pilot project.

For engineering and inspection firms, drone service providers, and utilities and asset operators with drone programs. Tell us about the building or the assets you review and the work you have in mind. If you don’t fly, we can. Capture suitability is assessed per project either way.

Our processing runs end to end, from radiometric captures to the 3D record in the viewer, and has been run on captures flown by other operators.
